Yoga Concert | Poetry, Yin yoga & Live Fralalai

Live geïmproviseerde muziek en een yin yogales verstrengelen rond mystieke poëzie voor een reis naar binnen. De magie van de yogaconcerten strijkt neer bij Natural High Yoga, deze luie zondagmiddag. Harpiste en zangeres Fralalai zal haar improvisaties naar de mat brengen, André Meeusen begeleidt de yogales, die wordt opgebouwd rond de poëzie van Mary Oliver. 

Wat is een yogaconcert?

Een concert, poëzievoordracht en yin yogales in één – dat is de formule van de yogaconcerten. De kalme, meditatieve en tegelijk intense houdingen van yin yoga geven de mogelijkheid om dieper in het bewustzijn te zakken, voorbij de denkpatronen van de geest. Op de yogamat verweven fysieke sensaties zich met muzikale improvisaties. Gedachten bedaren, waardoor ruimte ontstaat voor een open ontmoeting: de live muziek, yogahoudingen en poëzie bundelen samen, werken op elkaar in en versterken elkaar voor een innerlijke reis. 

Een taal die spreekt tot de ziel

De Italiaanse harpiste en zangeres Fralalai maakte tijdens eerdere yogaconcerten indruk met de diepte van haar muziek. De tederheid van haar harp, de roep van haar drums en engelachtige stem maken stil. Moeiteloos weeft ze zachte melodieën, doordrenkt van Keltische sferen en oeroude gezangen. Met haar aan boord, maakt het yogaconcert een reis van aardse diepten tot hemelse hoogten, verstrengeld met bezweringen die spreken tot de ziel.

Opmerkelijk aan de Amerikaanse dichteres Mary Oliver (1935-2019) is dat zij populair is onder een breed, spiritueel geëngageerd publiek en ook goed ligt bij het literaire establishment. Haar dichtbundels werden in Amerika 'best selling' en ze ontving tijdens haar carrière een grote diversiteit aan onderscheidingen: de Goodreads Choice Award (gebaseerd op lezersstemmen), de National Book Award (een prijs van boekhandelaren) en de Pulitzer Prize (een prestigieuze juryprijs). 

      Haar gedichten ademen een intieme sfeer, alsof je erbij bent terwijl ze wandelingen maakt door de natuur rond Blackwater Pond en zich verwondert over de mysteries van het leven.
